2014 Luxemburg DXCC LX
After many successfull activities during the past years in 2014 in Luxembourg we had very bad luck. By operator mistake we overdrove our SSPA substantially resulting in the attenuator burning. This meant we had no more output poweravailable right after QSO #1 with VK5APN. We quickly swapped the amp for the backup amp TE1452 which at least delivered some good 300 watts out.
However, this was not yet everything that had happened...
The t-connector was bought from a well-known electronics dealer in Germany but yet was cheap crap...it just fell apart when we were checking the reason for strange SWR behaviour. No firm connection of the center conductor, no nothing. With the spare one it was just the same. We learned our lesson.
